The numerous health benefits of pine essential oil have made it one of the most important essential oils used in aromatherapy. Pine essential oil blends well with many other oils can be widely used in making numerous aromatherapy preparations.

Definitions:

Analgesic: any medicine that reduces pain without inducing unconsciousness.
Antibacterial: kills or inhibits bacteria.
Antibiotic: any substance that can destroy or inhibit the growth of bacteria and similar microorganisms.
Antiseptic: a substance that inhibits the growth and reproduction of microorganisms.
Antiviral: inhibits the growth and production of a virus.
Cholagogue: an agent that promotes the discharge of bile.
Deodorant: Any agent acting to eliminate, reduce, mask, or control odor.
Diuretic: increases the amount or frequency of urination.
Expectorant: a substance used to cause or induce expulsion of phlegm from the lungs.

Safety Warnings: Internal consumption of pine essential oil can be dangerous as there is a possibility of kidney damage. Avoid if history of prostate cancer or high blood pressure. It should also not be given to people who are suffering from kidney disorders. Further, pine essential oil can cause irritations on highly sensitive skin. Children and elderly people should not be given pine essential oil as it may cause hypertension. Never ingest essential oils without a prescription. Use carrier oil when applying to skin.
